What Is The Wet Room Add-On?

Designed for open shower bathrooms, the Wet Room Add-On provides customers with peace of mind by protecting internal electronic components against water damage. The Wetroom Add-On enhances any of Aquatica’s Relax Air Massage or Tranquility series heated bathtubs by making them compatible with wet room electrical installation requirements.

How Does The Wet Room Add-On Work?

All electrical components are cleverly concealed inside the tub body, and covered by a moisture-resistant chipboard cover plate with a sealed outdoor rated junction box for the electrical connection. The moisture-resistant chipboard cover plate does not need to be dismantled during the bathtub installation process. This makes installation safer, easier, and provides more flexibility. The Wet Room Add-On includes some small holes at the base, as both the Relax and Tranquility systems need air in order to function correctly.

What Is The Rated Junction Box?

Aquatica’s rated junction boxes are enclosures designed for both indoor or outdoor use, providing protection against accidental contact of enclosed gadgets. Junction boxes offer a certain level of protection against dust, fiber and light splashes. Aquatica’s junction boxes hold an IP 66 international water and dust resistance rating and US certification.

Is Installing The Wet Room Add-On Different From A Regular Tub?

Installing a bathtub with the Wet Room Add-On for the US and Canadian market is the same as for any standard bathtub. For international markets, if an additional smell trap is required, then installers may need to remove the cover, and drill a hole for custom flexi-hose installation for the drain.
